I have found many uses for Baking Soda and Vinegar so I like to make sure I have plenty on hand. I buy the 128 oz. bottle of vinegar and buy my baking soda in the bulk section for mere pennies.
Unclog and deodorize drains.
I use baking soda and vinegar to unclog my kitchen and bathroom drains and the tub. It is safe on pipes and deodorizes and cleans as it unclogs. First pour about a 1/2 cup of baking soda into your sink on top of drain.
Pour Vinegar over baking soda.
The baking soda will foam up and clear and deoderize the drain.
Let sit for 5 to 10 minutes so the baking soda/vinegar mixture can work. Then pour a pot of boiling water down the drain. The baking soda and vinegar clean fat and gunk in the drain and deodorize at the same time.
Clean And Deodorize Washing Machine
Every once in a while you will wash your clothes and they come out smelling like you never even washed them. It may be you need to clean your machine. All you will need to do is add three cups of white vinegar and 1/2 cup baking soda to you washer that has been filled with hot water. (No laundry at this time). Let the washer run it’s cycle. This works on regular top loader washer. I have not tried it on high efficiency washers and would not recommend it
Thank you for reminding me of this cleaning method. I have tried it in the past, and it works! Sheila
